They are presented with their assignments in advance, along with a topic or topics that their committee will discuss. Delegates conduct research before conferences and formulate positions, that they will then debate with their fellow delegates in committee, staying true to the actual position of the member they represent.

Invitation

Dear Sir/Madam
Greetings!

We feel deeply delighted and privileged to inform that Jaipur National University, with its aim to provide holistic academic and co-curricular education, is now gearing up to organize the 2nd Model Youth United Nations Session at its Seedling School of Law and Governance on April 13-14, 2019. The Law School of the University has evolved into the most sought after educational institution in its ten years spotless and creditable journey. The University was accredited by NAAC in the year 2015.

The Model Youth United Nations (YUN) event is basically an educational-cum-role modeling simulation of the United Nations functioning, which aims to educate students on practical aspects of current events, international relations and diplomacy, which need to be included in the United Nations' agenda for discussions and solutions. In the Model YUN Meet, participants act as Delegates of different countries in a given session of the UN Organs/Committees, such as the United Nations General Assembly or the Human Rights Council. Participants are allotted a country to be represented and they are required to do research work on the country allotted. They take on the responsibility to investigate the international issues, debate on them, and consult with other 'delegates', with a view to suggest solutions to the global problems. To cover national issues, this time the Lok Sabha session is also being introduced. The aim of organizing the session of the YUN Organs/Committees is to take up an exercise in research, public speaking and teamwork. A professional requires such skills throughout his/her career and the YUN Event gives a chance for practice during the studies. The participants and the executive board along with the chief guests and the heads of the YUN Event are given awards for their hard work. Moreover, the Model Youth UN Events are diplomatic simulations where respect and cooperation are the basic tenets of the debate. Such a setting allows every participant to understand how existing international bodies work under the UN and the contributions they can make to help solve issues and challenges that affect our planet today.

We would like to extend our invitation to undergraduate students of Law, Political Science, Sociology, History and Economics from all over India to come and participate in this event as that would make them more sensitive to the global problems. Participants have the option of participating either as Delegates or International Press Corps. We have a capacity for 150 teams for the Event and 15 slots are for the International Press Corps. It will provide the students and budding professionals an opportunity to improve their knowledge and awareness regarding international issues and to work out innovative devices for action.
Our team is relentlessly working to offer the participants an enriching experience of functioning of the UN Organs/Committees.

We look forward to welcome you at Jaipur, the Heritage City of India, for the Model Youth United Nations Meet 2019.
With good wishes
